Is junk mail in your letter box really Junk?
I went to my letter box and pulled out all this advertising mail and what I found was a wealth of information.

Firstly, if you are wondering how to sell just look at how you buy?
There were supermarket catalogs one was with an amazing store front of the new store (I haven’t had a local supermarket for 6 months!!) so ..boy was I excited. The visual was full of newness, fresh fruit and veggies. I wanted to go then and there.
The next catalog was a competitor supermarket, it had a beautiful pic of a puppy and this weeks doggy specials.
They both did one thing- they both stirred emotions. We know that a person will buy when they know, like and trust you. When emotions are stirred you are most likely to open and talk about you and your needs. This means you listen and answer to establish your customers, this will build trust. Now if you do not sell on the first meeting that’ ok. You are building a relationship the fundamentals to being able to establish a customer’s needs. Just like the supermarkets’ marketing it stirred emotions of 1. Familiarity and my “local ” supermarket is back.
It is really simple we make it difficult by forgetting to be human and go in with a hard sell ..ewww !!
These principles can be used online as well,
the platform just changes.
So next time you say no to junk mail, have a closer
look. How do you feel? How is the message being portrayed?
Is it in your face SELL SELL SELL or does it stir emotion to lure
lure you to their site or store, by stirring positive emotions.
